Biography

Achim Herrmann earned a Ph.D. in Geosciences from the Pennsylvania State University. Before joining Barrett, The Honors College in 2005, Dr. Herrmann taught classes on environmental sciences, historical geology, climate change, and paleontology at the George Washington University. He is currently teaching science-focused 'Human Event' seminars in the Honors College and interdisciplinary science seminars in the School of Earth and Space Exploration. His research interests are in the fields of earth systems science and environmental geochemistry. Dr. Herrmann has published several peer-reviewed articles and is continuing his research in the W.M. Keck Foundation Laboratory for Environmental Biogeochemistry (http://kfleb.asu.edu/) at the Arizona State University.
